Rudder repair took longer than expected

Hundreds of passengers including groups of schoolchildren and elderly disabled people were stranded in a ferry terminal for up to six hours as the departure of the "Pride of Hull" from Rotterdam was unexpectedly delayed on Apr 9, 2017. The ferry was due to leave the port at 9 p.m. The passengers say they were kept waiting in the terminal with a tweet from P&O Ferries confirming that the departure was delayed due to a routine repair to the ship's rudder which took much longer than expected and the ship could not be moved back on to the berth until it was complete so passengers could not embark. The ferry left Rotterdam in the night and made up time, arriving in Kingston upon Hull only two hours late.
