Ten to 12 robbers in a boat came alongside the 'Stargate', which was at anchor 2.75 nautical miles off Sagar Light, Sagar Island, India, in position 21 41 25.2N, 88 01 09.0E, on Aug 11, 2018, at 02.25 a.m. Two of the robbers boarded the vessel. The patrol sentry spotted the robbers transferring bundles of rope into the boat and alerted the crew. Upon realising the crew had been alerted, the robbers escaped immediately with the stolen goods. The Master reported the incident to the local agent and Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The ICG followed up by deploying a Coast Guard vessel to investigate.
