On Apr 11, 2018, the remaining hostages of the 'Timi' were released after a ransom was paid and underway to Mumbai. The wine tanker was attacked, boarded and hijacked by pirates in the Gulf of Guinea on Jan 31. After the shipowner paid a ransom in mid-March, the vessel and some of the crew were released and the vessel arrived at the Contonou Anchorage, on Mar 21. Three Indian crew members and the master were retained by the pirates, who demanded a further ransom. The ransom was eventually paid in early April.
