Pusher unit ran aground in Colonia

The fully loaded 'Christiane Deymann 1‘, 3066 ts (ENI-No.: 02324750) and 'Christiane Deymann 2‘, 2030 ts (ENI-No.: 02323261), ran aground on the Rhine at river km 682 on July 11, 2018, around 4 p.m. Tha accident happened while giving room to a passing barge due to the low water level. The barges got stuck on the right river shore at Colonia-Rodenkirchen. Two other went alongside and tried to refloat the vessels, but failed as they were hard aground. The attempts were aborted in the evening. In the foremidday of July 11 part of the cargo was to be lightered by a crane of the company Hülskens in order to reduce the draught.
