PSA Singapore has introduced a Motorola Solutions digital radio system to boost efficiency across its operations, including the Tuas Mega Port expansion, reported Dublin's Smart Maritime Network.
The TETRA communication system supports more than 4,000 users, handling an average of 540,000 voice calls daily to coordinate port activities.
PSA Singapore manages the movement of over 40 million TEU annually across 600 ports worldwide.
Container Division Managing Director Philbert Chua stated that the Tuas Mega Port is a long-term strategic investment utilizing advanced technologies to strengthen Singapore's competitiveness, resilience, and agility in global supply chains.
Tuas Mega Port is being developed in four phases and is set to become the world’s largest fully automated container terminal. Once complete in the 2040s, it is expected to handle up to 65 million TEU annually.
