Prof. Dr. Pınar Akan from Marmara University is honored as a 'Distinguished Speaker' at IMO IMLI, teaching container shipping in 2026.

Prof. Dr. Pınar Akan, the Head of the Maritime Law Department at Marmara University Faculty of Law, is one of the most respected figures in the Turkish academic world on an international scale. She has been honored by the International Maritime Organization's International Maritime Law Institute (IMO IMLI), which is recognized as one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the field of maritime law.
Invited as a 'Distinguished Speaker' for the 2025-2026 Academic Year, Prof. Dr. Akan will present a comprehensive series of lectures titled 'Container Shipping: From Freight to Demurrage' to international students on March 2-3, 2026. By participating in this platform that trains the future leaders of the global maritime sector, Akan directly contributes to the development of international maritime law with her extensive knowledge.
