THE Port of Shanghai, the world's busiest container port, posted a 5.9 per cent year on year increase in throughput in October to 3.22 million TEU, according to figures from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co (SIPG).

Last month's throughput also rose by 2.9 per cent compared to 3.13 million TEU posted in September. In the first 10 months of 2016, Shanghai posted a volume of 30.82 million TEU, up 1.4 per cent year on year.
