The "Maersk Alabama" was attacked by armed pirates on Mar 8, 2011, between Kenya and Madagascar.
Armed guards aboard the ship were able to repel the attack. A speedboat with four pirates Tuesday approached the container vessel at high speed. As the speedboat was half a mile from the "Maersk Alabama" the captain gave the armed guards the order to give warning shots, bunt only after the captain gave the order to shoot directly at the pirate ship, the PAG aborted the attack.
It is at least the third time that "Maersk Alabama" has been attacked by pirates.
The last time it happened was in September 2010 when the ship was attacked by five armed pirates.
