    A pirate attack on a naphtha-laden tanker in the Indian Ocean was blocked and all 27 crew members were safe, the Hamburg shipping company CST said Saturday.

Pirates attempted to board the Liberian-flagged New York Star in the Indian Ocean on Friday. The tanker was sailing from Saudi Arabia to Singapore. The pirates were on a speedboat and shooting at the tanker, which was built in 2006. The attack was repulsed with the help of a Dutch frigate.
