Turkey's Wealth Fund has awarded İzmir Alsancak Port's operating rights to Alport Alsancak, a new company by the Albayrak Group.
Turkey's Wealth Fund (TVF) has made its final decision regarding the operator of TCDD İzmir Alsancak Port, which it has held in its portfolio since 2016. The operating rights of the port have been transferred to a new company established by the Albayrak Group.
According to the official letter sent to the General Directorate of TCDD, dated February 18, 2026, and signed by TVF General Manager Arda Ermut and Deputy General Manager Aziz Murat Uluğ, the operation of İzmir Alsancak Port has been granted to Alport Alsancak Port Operations Inc., based in Istanbul. This company was established on January 23, 2026, by Albayrak Group partners Muzaffer Albayrak, Mustafa Albayrak, and Muhammet Sinan Albayrak.
As part of the decision, the cargo and general port operations have been transferred to the new operator, while the passenger terminal area, where cruise ships dock, has been excluded from the contract. It has been stated that this area will continue to be managed under a separate arrangement.
Alsancak Port, one of the most important trade gateways of İzmir, has been at the center of discussions regarding privatization and operational models for years. With TVF's recent decision, a new era has begun in the operational process of the port. Details regarding the transfer process of the port, investment plans, and the duration of operations are expected to be clarified in the coming days.
