HONG KONG's Orient Oversea Container Line (OOCL) has leased 50,000 square feet of office space three-storey building under construction in the South Jordan area of Salt Lake City, Utah.
OOCL plans to expand and hire and/or relocate 300 personnel to this new office space over the next few years, reports the Journal of Commerce.
"We're excited to see OOCL come to RiverPark, and welcome them to our growing network of regional, national and global headquarters," said a spokesman for the landlord of RiverPark, based in Kent, England.
In 2009, OOCL's Singaporean rival, APL, the container shipping arm of Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), relocated from Oakland, California to lease a large area in Phoenix, 660 miles due south in the neighbouring state of Arizona.
