OOCL's first methanol dual-fuel containership, OOCL Wisdom, has successfully completed its maiden green methanol bunkering and begun its inaugural voyage.
Orient Overseas Container Line's first methanol dual-fuel containership, OOCL Wisdom, has completed its maiden green methanol bunkering and commenced its first voyage from Qingdao Port, announced OOCL.
The vessel is the first of seven methanol dual-fuel ships ordered by the company. With a maximum capacity of 24,168 TEU, it is currently the world's largest methanol dual-fuel containership and is deployed on the Asia-North Europe Loop 1 service.
Peter Pan, Director of Trades at OOCL, stated that the bunkering and maiden voyage mark a significant achievement in collaboration with Shandong Port Group. He added that this milestone reflects OOCL's commitment to green and low-carbon development, digital intelligence, and sustainability.
Mr. Pan emphasized that the company will continue to focus on customers, advance fleet upgrading and low-carbon transition, and enhance service capabilities. He mentioned that OOCL aims to provide safer, more reliable, and sustainable logistics solutions to support global trade growth.
