    Ocean Alliance starts service to Hamad Port

    Qatar Ports Management Company- Mwani Qatar announced the launch of the Ocean Alliance first direct service to Hamad Port. This is part of the Ministry of Transport and Communications’ ambitious strategy aiming to promote Hamad Port regionally and internationally, CMA CGM Uruguay container ship, the first vessel to sail on the new service arrived yesterday evening at Hamad Port. The Ocean Alliance is the world's largest container shipping alliance with 350 container vessel fleet and a total carrying capacity of 3.5 million TEUs. The new service will support Qatar's foreign trade, increase volume of container handling and reduce the time the goods take from ports served by the Ocean Alliance. The Alliance offers 40 services on the East-West trades with around 100 ports of call and almost 500 port pairs.
