    General cargo vessel Wilson Newport ran aground at around 04:30 UTC Oct 21 2012 on a coast of Gios Georgios, Greece, Adriatic sea, in position 37 28N 023 56E.

General cargo vessel Wilson Newport ran aground at around 04:30 UTC Oct 21 2012 on a coast of Gios Georgios, Greece, Adriatic sea, in position 37 28N 023 56E.  Vessel’s track shows vessel sailed straight to the island keeping the same course for more than 2 hours, most probably the watch fell asleep. 10 crew is all Russian. Vessel is in the same position as of morning Oct 22, anti-pollution vessel Aegis 1 and tug Megas Alexandros standing by. No pollution and no water ingress was reported by Greece Coast Guard, but vessel seems to be hard aground. Wilson Newport was en route from Gemlik Turkey to Antwerp.
