Djibouti launches the Djibouti Ship Repair Yard, a major ship maintenance facility, enhancing regional maritime capabilities in partnership with Damen
Djibouti has officially inaugurated a new ship maintenance and repair facility, realized through a partnership with Damen Shipyards and financed by the Netherlands-based Invest International.
The facility, named Djibouti Ship Repair Yard (DSRY), is reported to be the largest ship maintenance and repair center in the Red Sea and East Africa. The facility includes a floating dock that is 217 meters long and 43 meters wide.
Djibouti's Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment, Hassan Houmed Ibrahim, emphasized the strategic importance of the facility for the country, stating, 'This investment is a strategic national asset that enhances our port competitiveness, supports the blue economy, and strengthens Djibouti's regional position.'
