LC Logistics has announced that its subsidiary, Lehang Boundless, has novated its rights to a 14,000-TEU containership currently under construction to Blue Anchor, a Liberian company owned by Mediterranean Shipping Company, according to reports from Melbourne's Baird Maritime.
The vessel, identified as hull number H2872, is being constructed at Jiangnan Shipyard. Blue Anchor will pay a total of US$170 million for the order, which includes $68.64 million allocated to Lehang Boundless and $101.36 million directly to the shipyard.
This agreement, signed with China Shipbuilding Trading Company and Jiangnan Shipyard, replaces Lehang Boundless as the purchaser. The total consideration comprises the original price of $144.8 million plus a $25.2 million premium, based on an independent valuation.
LC Logistics stated that this transaction will generate an estimated gain of approximately $20.1 million. The proceeds from this sale are intended to be used to expand operations and strengthen cash flow.
