ANKARA - Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek commented on the ongoing growth in industrial production, noting a 2.4% year-on-year increase in November, adjusted for calendar effects. He highlighted that the annual growth for the January-November period reached 3.5%.
Şimşek emphasized that growth occurred in 19 out of 24 sub-sectors of manufacturing, indicating a broad economic recovery. He pointed out the strong performance in capital goods and high-tech sectors, which support high value-added production and enhance medium-to-long-term growth potential.
Reminding that 2026 has been declared the 'Year of Reform,' Minister Şimşek noted that transformation policies focusing on efficient resource use, employment, and sustainability in industry will be accelerated in the coming period.
