Turkey faces heavy rain and storms, with warnings for floods and strong winds. Residents urged to take precautions in affected regions.

The Meteorology Department has issued a severe weather alert for Turkey, predicting heavy rainfall and storms across various regions. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.

According to the latest forecasts from the General Directorate of Meteorology, rain is expected nationwide, except for the eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia and the eastern Black Sea region. Coastal areas and southern Southeastern Anatolia will experience significant rain and downpours, while mixed rain and snow are anticipated in other regions.

In Ankara, locally strong rainfall is predicted in the southern and eastern Marmara, Aegean (excluding İzmir and Manisa), Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Western Black Sea, and the surroundings of Amasya, Samsun, and Çorum. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant against sudden floods, water accumulation, lightning, small hail, and potential disruptions in transportation.

Winds are expected to blow strongly, reaching speeds of 50-80 km/h from southern directions in the southern and eastern parts of the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the inner regions of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, and the northern and western parts of Eastern Anatolia. In the western Marmara, winds will come from northern directions. Precautions should be taken against roof blow-offs, tree and pole collapses, and risks of carbon monoxide poisoning from stoves and natural gas sources.

Air temperatures are forecasted to decrease by 5 to 7 degrees in the western regions, while an increase of 4 to 6 degrees is expected in the Eastern Black Sea. No significant changes are anticipated in other areas.

Severe Rainfall Warning: Due to the expected intensity of rainfall in the southern and eastern Marmara, Aegean (excluding İzmir and Manisa), Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Western Black Sea, and the surroundings of Amasya, Samsun, and Çorum, residents should be prepared for adverse conditions such as sudden floods, water accumulation, lightning, local small hail, and disruptions in transportation.

Severe Wind Warning: Strong winds, at times reaching storm levels (50-80 km/h), are expected from southern directions in the Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, southern and eastern Central Anatolia, the inner regions of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, and the northern and western parts of Eastern Anatolia. In the western Marmara, winds will come from northern directions. Caution is advised against tree and pole collapses, roof blow-offs, risks of carbon monoxide poisoning from stoves and natural gas, and disruptions in transportation.

Ice and Frost Warning: Frost and ice formation, along with fog and local mist, are expected in the inland and eastern parts of the country during morning and night hours. Residents should be cautious and prepared for potential adverse conditions.

Additionally, there is an avalanche risk in the high snow-covered slopes of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia.
