Captain Savaş Ercan, who has served as a manager in the MSC Group for many years, has been appointed as the General Manager of Medlog Maritime. Ercan had been working at Medlog Canada for the past four years.
A graduate of the Maritime Faculty of Istanbul Technical University, Captain Savaş Ercan has become the General Manager of Medlog Maritime, which operates under the MSC Group. The appointment was reflected in the sectoral press on October 3, 2026. With his new role, Ercan has taken over the management of the company's maritime structure, which includes a fleet of 13 vessels.
New assignment from Canada to Turkey
Having held various managerial positions within the MSC Group, Ercan transitioned to the group's Canadian structure after his work in Turkey. Ercan, who has been managing Medlog Canada for over the past four years, has experience in container transportation, port operations, and logistics.
Served in the Chamber of Shipping
In addition to his roles in companies, Ercan has also taken on responsibilities in professional organizations. He was part of the management of the İMEAK Chamber of Shipping, İzmir Branch, and served as the vice-chairman of the board of directors. During this period, he worked on studies related to cruise and container transportation.
Engaged in professional associations
Ercan has also held the presidency of the İzmir Branch of the Istanbul Technical University Maritime Faculty Alumni Association (İTÜ DEFAMED), participating in sectoral studies on cruise tourism, port infrastructures, container transportation, and logistics at both national and international platforms.
