The Breskens lifeboat carried out a medical evacuation in the early morning of Aug 30, 2018, from the 'Baltic Wind'. The tanker was enroute from Antwerp to Tallinn when the woman became unwell at Flushing roads while on the bridge of the vessel. The Dutch Coast Guard alerted the duty doctor of the Radio Medical Service (RMD) and the lifeboat crew of Breskens. The 'Zeemanshoop' quickly set sail towards the tanker. In consultation with the physician of the RMD it is decided to medevac the woman via the pilot ladder. Once the woman was aboard the lifeboat, it rushed to Breskens where an ambulance team took her to the Knokke-Heist hospital for further treatment.
