The 'Rahmeh' had to shelter at Cesme anchorage on Sep 13, 2018, to fix mechanical problem, which required spare parts to be delivered on board. The ship was sailing in ballast from Istanbul to Gibraltar. There were fears among local residents, because during her previous voyage with livestock from Vila do Conde to Bandirma, some animals were found to be infected with anthrax, amd the vessel was under quarantine in Turkish waters for quite some time. Authorities had to issue an official statement, assuring that there was no bio danger, and that the ship and the crew would undergo a health inspection.
