Maersk warns of potential payment delays during a financial system upgrade to SAP S/4HANA in June 2026, urging customers to prepare in advance.
AP Moller Maersk has advised customers of possible delays in payment processing and freight release during a planned financial system transition to SAP S/4HANA in June 2026, reports AP Moller Maersk.
The company stated that a system freeze will occur from 5 to 8 June, during which cash customers may face delays in releasing freight. Customers are urged to complete payments at least three working days in advance and provide proof and remittance details to the finance team.
Maersk requested full payments to reduce manual processing time. The finance team will verify remittance details, confirm payments in the bank, and update the system before cargo or bill of lading release. Customers without invoices should contact their usual representative to obtain values.
Once the system is restored on 8 June, payments will be posted in SAP S/4HANA and receipts issued. Customers can then request payment receipts from the finance team.
Maersk encouraged customers to prepare in advance and complete business-critical activities before the freeze. The company stated that teams are dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition and will provide updates as needed.
