    DANISH shipping giant Maersk Line is applying slow steaming to its CHX service between Asia and the Indian subcontinent, extending transit for the complete loop to 42 days from 35.

    DANISH shipping giant Maersk Line is applying slow steaming to its CHX service between Asia and the Indian subcontinent, extending transit for the complete loop to 42 days from 35.

    Transit times eastbound to Asia from the Indian subcontinent on the CHX have increased by seven days as vessels slow steam one week between Vishakhapatnam and Tanjung Pelepas, reports ComPair Data. Safmarine will continue to take slots on the CHX loop along with X-Press Feeders.

    Six Maersk ships, averaging 4,233 TEU, will rotate through Qingdao, Xingang, Ningbo, Shanghai, Guangzhou-Nansha, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Chennai, Vishakhapatnam, Tanjung Pelepas and back Qingdao.
