The 'Maersk Shanghai' began the transit to Freeport, Bahamas in the late afternoon of March 6. Based on current transit time vessel is expected to arrive to Freeport on March 8. The vessel owners have secured a supplier to conduct salvage operations once the vessel has arrived. The damaged units on board will need to be attended to first in order to protect the safety of the crew, cargo and vessel. Maersk Line is working closely with all parties involved to determine best course of action for all cargo.
