Maersk Line resumes seasonal NZ relay service

Maersk Line is to re-activate its seasonal New Zealand relay (NZ 2) service connecting Tanjung Pelepas with Nelson, Napier and Auckland from February deploying two ships of 3,200 TEU. The NZ 2 service adds to the NZ 1, which covers Auckland and Port Chalmers (with a wayport call at Brisbane), using four 4,100-TEU ships jointly contributed by Maersk (3) and MISC (1). With the start of the Australian fruit season, lines bring extra tonnage to cope with increased export volumes. Maersk started this additional seasonal service in 2007.
