Maersk appoints Robert Erni as CFO and announces a leadership reshuffle, marking a strategic transition within the company.
Danish shipping giant Maersk has appointed Robert Erni as its new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Patrick Jany, who has held the position for six years. Mr. Erni will officially assume his role following Maersk's report of its 2025 results on February 5. With three decades of financial experience in logistics, he has previously held senior roles at Kuehne + Nagel, Panalpina, and most recently, Dachser.
Chief Executive Vincent Clerc stated that Mr. Erni's international background and leadership skills make him an excellent fit for the company.
In addition to the CFO appointment, Maersk has announced a rotation of three regional directors, effective early 2026. Charles Van Der Steene, who has served as President of North America since 2024, will transition to Managing Director for India following Richard Morgan's departure.
Ditlev Blicher, the current head for Asia-Pacific, will take over the North American division, while regional CFO Scott Elliott will succeed him in Asia-Pacific. In Europe, Guillaume Sauzedde, who joined Maersk in 2024, will replace Aymeric Chandavoine, who is leaving the company.
Mr. Clerc emphasized that this reshuffle reflects the company's strong execution of strategic priorities and confidence in reconfiguring regional leadership.
