LNG tanker rescued four castaways

On Sep 17, 2017, the "Papua" rescued four distressed dsailors close to Port Moresby. They were subsequently transferred onto a rescue vessel. In the afternoon the LNG tanker had received an emergency call from the Australian MRCC while the ship was heading for the port of Qingdao, coming from Port Moresby. The LNG tanker immediately diverted to the given position and picked up the castaways in the early morning of Sep 18. A rescue ship which was sent from Port Moresby subsequently took them aboard.
