    Vintage cape CAPE AUSTRALIA (149K BLT 1990 CHINA SHIPBUILDING/CHINA) was sold for$7 mill scrap related price equivalent to $385 per LDT.

    Bulkers:  Vintage cape CAPE AUSTRALIA (149K BLT 1990 CHINA SHIPBUILDING/CHINA) was sold for$7 mill scrap related price equivalent to $385 per LDT.  Two modern kamsarmax units changed handsthis week; NORD AQUILA and NORD AQUARIUS (82K BLT 2011 GUANGZHOU/CHINA) were committeden bloc for $44 mill to UK based buyers. Geared panamax CIELO LUCIA (73K BLT 1999SASEBO/JAPAN) has gone to undisclosed interests for excess $10 mill.  Late eighties panamax TARANG(70K BLT 1989 SANOYAS/JAPAN, LDT 9082) was snapped by Chinese further trading buyers for $4.15mill having a scrap value of $3.6 mill. Another vintage panamax MAHANAIM (68K BLT 1987KOYO/JAPAN, LDT 10700) attracted the scrap related level of $4.45 mill from undisclosed buyers. Modern supramax grabber CURIA (51K BLT 2011 OSHIMA/JAPAN CR 4X30T GRABS 4X11 CBM) hasattracted the very firm level of $13.9 mill from Greek buyers waiving inspection (we understand fromthe market that she inspected very well). Mid-nineties handymax ID TIDE (45K BLT 1995TSUNEISHI/JAPAN CR 4X25T) is committed to undisclosed interests for $7.65 mill, about half amillion more than last done sale of VOSHOD 2 (47K BLT 1995 OSHIMA/JAPAN) for $7.2 mill. Handymax bulker MAHA AVANTI (43K BLT 1991 TSUNEISHI/JAPAN) was sold to New York basedGreeks (hearing clients of Albamar) who paid $5.8 mill, same price as recent sale of ROGUE (42K BLT1991 OSHIMA/JAPAN). Tankers:  MR unit HOUYOSHI EXPRESS (47K BLT 2004 IWAGI/JAPAN) was sold for the price of $14mill to Greek buyers (hearing clients of AVIN), same level as sale of similar unit OAKDEN (45K BLT2004 SHIN KURUSHIMA/JAPAN) two months ago. Two smaller modern units were committed en bloc;DIPLOMAT and NEGOTIATOR (13K BLT 2007 SEKWANG/S. KOREA) for $11 mill each to Turkishbuyers (hearing clients of THY OPET).  Modern unit NEW MIGHTY (9K BLT 2009 DONGFANG/CHINA)was sold for $7.3 mill through court auction in China to clients of Stena Weco of Sweden. Demolition:  Bangladesh and Pakistan market are softening this week paying between $375-$390 forbulkers, $400-$415 for tankers & $385-$400 for container vessels. India has also softened by $5-$10 paying $385-395 for bulkers, $415-$425 for tankers and $410-$415 for containers.
