Levi Strauss plans to reinvest $60 million of tariff refunds into supply chain and marketing to boost growth and meet holiday demand.

Levi Strauss & Co. recorded roughly $80 million in tariff refunds last quarter and plans to reinvest three-quarters of that amount, about $60 million, in supply chain improvements and other areas of the business. Harmit Singh, executive vice president and chief financial and growth officer, outlined the plan on the company's Oct. 7 earnings call.

The San Francisco-based denim maker, founded in 1853, also raised its annual profit forecast during the quarter. It cited the benefit of the refunds and its expectations for holiday demand.

According to Singh, the company will divide the $60 million as follows:

    - Distribution and logistics: one-third, or about $20 million

    - Marketing: about $20 million

    - Promotional activities: about $20 million

The marketing and promotional amounts are equal shares of the remaining two-thirds.

A small portion of the funds went toward inventory clearance ahead of the holiday season. Most of the supply chain spending will take place in the current quarter. The timing aligns the investments with the company's peak selling period.

Singh described the allocation as a deliberate balance between immediate commercial priorities and longer-term operational strength.

"We believe this balanced approach strengthens our competitive position, supports near-term growth and keeps us on track to deliver our annual algorithm of mid-single-digit revenue growth with a clear path to 15% operating margins over time," Singh said.

The company's stated financial framework calls for mid-single-digit annual revenue growth and a gradual expansion of operating margins toward 15%.

The allocation shows how Levi Strauss plans to use refunded tariff costs. The company is directing the funds into its operations and its demand-generation efforts rather than treating them only as a one-time gain. The investment in distribution and logistics addresses the efficiency of its supply chain. The marketing and promotional spending targets consumer demand during the holiday season.

The plan positions the refunds as more than a one-time benefit. It treats them as capital to reinforce the company's long-term growth and margin goals.
