    JOINING the decline in maritime container traffic, HAROPA Port, centred on Le Havre has posted 1.25 million TEU in June down 8.6 per cent year on year. Full container traffic experienced an overall decline of 8.6 per cent, with imports dropping by 6.8 per cent and exports by 12.4 per cent, reported London's Port Technology.

    The port highlighted the positive performance of river traffic in containers, which saw a significant improvement with 12,834 TEU it lifted.

    Particularly, the goods handled by Paris Terminal SA at Gennevilliers increased by 19 per cent in June 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

    In terms of tonnage, there was a decrease of 16.7 per cent compared to previous records. Maritime traffic in cars passing through the ro-ro terminal failed to demonstrate a consistent pattern, with some months seeing surges and others experiencing drops.

    Overall, volume has stayed constant since 2022, with a throughput of 130,000 cars.

    In May 2023, Canada's Port of Montreal and HAROPA Port announced the renewal of their first international cooperation agreement that took place six years ago.
