The largest ship ever has docked at Odfjell Terminals' Third Petroleum Harbour at Rotterdam.
This week, the largest ship ever has docked in the Third Petroleum Harbour at Odfjell Terminals (Rotterdam). Never before has a ship of the so-called Suez Max class entered this part of the harbour of Rotterdam. The Princimar Grace is unloading an oil product that is distilled at Odfjell. Odfjell Terminals (Rotterdam) is the only independent terminal in the port of Rotterdam to have such an installation. The Princimar Grace is expected to set sail again tomorrow evening.The Princimar Grace is a tanker with a length of nearly 275 metres and a width of over 48 metres. In order to accommodate the arrival of this large ship Odfjell, in cooperation with the Rotterdam Port Authority, has carefully checked whether the 3rd petroleum harbour can accept a ship of this size.About Odfjell Terminal RotterdamOdfjell Terminals (Rotterdam) B.V. The company has 281 tanks with a collective capacity of approximately 1,635,000 m3. The size of the tanks varies from 735 to 40,000 m3In addition to storage and trans-shipment, OTR also works on the toll distillation of products for its customers. Toll distillation is often a solution for petrochemical companies that are dealing with a lack of production capacity or do not have distillation systems themselves. Odfjell processes both mineral oils and chemical products.
OTR has the best location in the port of Rotterdam. It has unique access to sea, rail, pipeline and road connections. For sea tankers, OTR has five moorings available. In addition, there are 7 moorings available for short sea ships and 11 for inland vessels. There are also extensive possibilities for dealing with tank trucks, containers and rail cars. OTR is also connected to various pipeline systems.
