    The 169m bulk carrier Regalo ran aground off Tekirdağ at noon. No injuries or pollution reported; investigations ongoing.

    Off the coast of Tekirdağ in the Sea of Marmara, the bulk carrier Regalo, registered under the flag of Sao Tome and Principe, measuring 169 meters in length, 27.2 meters in width, and with a deadweight tonnage of 28,461 DWT, ran aground around 12:00 for reasons yet to be determined.

    Upon notification, teams from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety and the Coast Guard Command were dispatched to the area. While measures were taken to ensure the safety of maritime traffic in the vicinity of the vessel, efforts to salvage the ship from the same location were also initiated.

    Initial assessments indicate that there were no casualties, injuries, or marine pollution as a result of the incident. Teams are continuing their efforts to safely refloat the vessel.

    Investigations into the cause of the grounding of the ship are ongoing.
