The 325-meter CASTORONE vessel briefly halted traffic in the Istanbul Strait as it traveled from Romania to Greece.

The pipe-laying vessel 'CASTORONE', flying the flag of the Bahamas, measures 325 meters in length and 39 meters in width, with a weight of 102,032 gross tons. It entered the Istanbul Strait at 06:00 while en route from Romania to Greece.

Due to the passage of the vessel, which was accompanied by the tugboats 'Kıyı Emniyeti 5', 'Kurtarma 3', 'Kurtarma 7', 'Kurtarma 14', and 'Kurtarma 6' under the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, the Istanbul Strait was temporarily closed to two-way ship traffic.

The vessel's passage was completed in approximately 2 hours, after which the Istanbul Strait was reopened to ship traffic.
