IN the continuing drive for digitalisation, major Swiss transport and logistics provider, Kuehne + Nagel, is expanding KN FreightNet - a digitalised platform for quoting, booking and tracking of shipments to the Chinese market - by making it available through WeChat with its more than one billion daily active users. With the expanded service, traders, exporters and local shippers in China will be able to check freight rates and shipping schedules in real-time. Leveraging on its back-end algorithm capability, the application also enables smart searching functionality at the customers' fingertips, the company said.
'Users can place shipment bookings directly for their shipments supported by the ease of a paperless information and documentation flow.'

The extension of KN FreightNet will initially be going live on selected Intra Asia lanes for Full Container Load (FCL) services. This will be gradually expanded into other long haul trade lanes, the company added.
