THE Port of Rotterdam Authority's new director for containers and breakbulk is Joyce Bliek, who has been heading the department for containers at the port since 2008 and continues to do so in her new position.
Her aim is to further build upon the brand of Breakbulk Rotterdam to ensure that both breakbulk and container sectors stay strong and successful in Rotterdam, a statement from port authorities said.
"At the same time, in an era where deepsea liners ship more and more breakbulk and breakbulk cargo is shipped more and more in containers, the goal is to maximise the synergies and opportunities between the two market segments," it said.
