Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), India's largest container port, achieved a historic milestone by handling 7.94 million TEU in 2025, the highest annual throughput in its history, as reported by New Delhi's Business Standard.
This remarkable growth represents a 12.64% increase in container volumes year on year, driven by steady demand and enhanced coordination among terminals, shipping lines, and service providers.
In addition to container traffic, overall cargo throughput reached 99.17 million tonnes in 2025, reflecting a 9.86% year-on-year increase.
Currently, JNPA operates five terminals with a combined handling capacity of approximately 10.1 million TEU, reinforcing its status as India's leading container gateway.
