Thursday morning, Jeremy Walls, a steel fitter at Bay Shipbuilding Co./Fincantieri in Sturgeon Bay, got his layoff notice. Later that morning he was on a picket line outside the company joining other members of Boilermakers Local 449, who have been working without a contract since May 1.
