Indonesia's Attorney General announces auction of Iranian tanker MT Arman 114 with cargo on January 30, following a failed sale in December 2025.

The Indonesian Attorney General's Office announced that the Iranian-flagged oil tanker MT Arman 114 will be put up for auction along with its cargo on January 30. The auction held in December 2025 previously failed to find a buyer.

According to officials, the MT Arman 114, a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) over 300 meters long, was detained by Indonesian authorities in 2023 on suspicion of conducting ship-to-ship (STS) transfers in the North Natuna Sea without the necessary permits.

The Attorney General's Office stated that approximately 167,000 to 170,000 metric tons, or about 1.25 million barrels of light crude oil, will be sold as a single package along with the tanker. The auction will be conducted through the Batam unit of the State Assets and Auction Services Office via Indonesia's official auction portal.

According to the announcement, the minimum sale price has been set at 1.17 trillion rupiah (approximately 69.5 million dollars). Bidders are required to deposit a guarantee of 118 billion rupiah.

Officials noted that the process will be conducted transparently and that international buyers will also be able to participate in the auction.
