THE Hong Kong Marine Department figures showed that the harbour's June container throughput declined 12.7 per cent year on year to 1.16 million TEU, having suffered a year to date loss of 8.7 per cent to 7.08 million TEU. Laden outbound containers declined 7.7 per cent to 6.2 million TEU while laden inbound containers fell 6.7 per cent to 3.04 million TEU.
Outbound empties were down 18.6 per cent to 345,000 TEU while inbound empties came in at 514,000 TEU, down 12.9 per cent.
