Hat-San Shipbuilding launches floating dock NB21, boosting ship maintenance for Panamax vessels and fostering regional maritime development.
Hat-San Shipbuilding Maintenance Repair (HAT-SAN), one of the pioneering names in the Yalova Altınova Shipyards Region, has successfully completed the construction of its new floating dock, designated as NB21, built for its own use. This significant investment, which is central to the company's public offering process, has been launched into the waters under the name 'Gazanfer Bilge.'
Operating in the Altınova Shipyards Region, Hat-San Shipyard has made a major investment that will enhance its competitiveness in the maritime sector. The NB21 project, which has channeled a significant portion of the company's public offering revenues and was realized with an investment cost of approximately 875 million TL, represents a new era in Turkey's ship maintenance and repair capacity.
Technical Superiority and 'Panamax' Capacity
The new floating dock, which stands out with its length of 230 meters and width of 46.4 meters, has been specifically designed for the docking and maintenance of high-tonnage Panamax class vessels. With a lifting capacity of 19,000 tons, it will allow the shipyard to serve larger and more numerous vessels simultaneously.
Sectoral Impact and Export Goals
Hat-San Management emphasizes that this investment will not only increase the company's capacity but will also support the vision of the region becoming an international maintenance and repair hub.
Foreign Currency Inflow: The rate at which foreign shipowners choose Turkey for their large-tonnage vessels will increase.
Employment: New employment opportunities will be created in the sub-industry and operational units with the increasing business volume.
Efficiency: Thanks to advanced pumping systems and technological equipment, the entry and exit times of ships will be shortened, and the shipyard's cycle speed will increase.
Among the projects promised to investors during the public offering process, NB21 holds a critical position and will operate under the name 'Gazanfer Bilge,' one of the legendary figures in Turkish maritime history. With this project, Hat-San has also reinforced its strategy of constructing and delivering a new floating dock every three years to the sector.
