GERMAN shipping giant Hapag-Lloyd will levy a rate increase of US$125 per TEU and $250 per FEU from October 6 on all dry and reefer cargo from US east coast to the South America west coast.

Hapag-Lloyd also announced security surcharge of EUR15 (US$17.86) for the French ports of Le Havre, Fos-sur-Mer and Dunkirk, where there have been stowaway migrant problems.

Ocean tariff rates as well as bunker surcharges, peak season surcharges (if applicable) and terminal handling charges will remain unchanged. Other local charges and contingency surcharges may apply.
