Korean shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction – Philippines (HHIC-Phil Inc.) has been making significant strides in the ultra large box ship newbuilding category, with the sea trial of the Philippine-made 20,600 TEU class containership in progress. Launched in August 2017, the mammoth vessel is out in the open seas from December 29, 2017 to January 2, 2018. It embarks on an important journey for 3 nights and 4 days to undergo a series of performance tests and technical inspections prior to its expected delivery in the early part of 2018 to its proud owner French shipping magnate CMA CGM.
