Grounding at Rathlin Island

On Oct 10, 2017, the Portrush lifeboat launched at 10.45 p.m. after the "Ruyter" ran aground with a crew of eight on board at Rathlin Island. The vessel was making its way from Lomonosov to Warrenpoint. The volunteer crew arrived on scene, but the vessel had already been able to get off rocks without assistance and continue its journey. The crew thus returned to its station.
