The US Coast Guard has freed the 'Sea Cypress' that was stuck on a sandbar off the coast of Lavallette. The tug was in the area aiding in a beach replenishment project when rough seas snapped an anchor rope. That rope eventually got tangled in a propeller. Beaches in the area had been closed as the Coast Guard worked to retrieve the vessel. It was now headed to Barnegat.
