Global Ports Holding starts operations in Seville, hosting 90 cruise ships this year and investing over 5 million euros in infrastructure improvements.

Global Ports Holding (GPH), the world's largest cruise port operator, serves 22 million passengers annually through 34 cruise ports across 19 countries on 4 continents. As a subsidiary of Global Yatırım Holding, GPH has commenced operations at its tenth cruise port in Spain, located in Seville. The company celebrated the opening of the season by welcoming its first ship at the Seville Cruise Port. GPH plans to host 90 cruise ships at the port throughout the year and intends to invest over 5 million euros in collaboration with its partner Ocean Platform Marinas to enhance the infrastructure.

Recently, Global Ports Holding began operations at the Seville Cruise Port, which it added to its portfolio. This port, GPH's tenth in Spain, will be operated in partnership with Ocean Platform Marinas (OPM) for a duration of 25 years. This long-term collaboration aims to position Seville as a leading cruise and mega yacht destination, aligned with its global cultural standing, based on a sustainable and high-value tourism model.

The season opening was marked by the welcoming of the first ship and the announcement of the new general manager. The 180-meter-long Azamara Journey, which has initiated the city's cruise season for the past four years, made its first visit this year as well. The ship carries 670 passengers, mostly from the United States and Canada, along with 400 crew members. Passengers will enjoy an extended two-night stay in the heart of Seville.

Global Ports Holding plans to host 90 cruise ships at the Seville Cruise Port this year. Additionally, four cruise ships will visit the city for the first time this year.

Meanwhile, Beatrice Rasmini has been appointed as the new general manager of the Seville Cruise Port. Rasmini, who has extensive experience in the industry, will manage daily operations and the strategic implementation of the investment plan.

Francesc Grau, Regional Director of Global Ports Holding for the Western Mediterranean, stated that they aim to make the Seville Cruise Port one of the most iconic destinations in Europe. 'Thanks to the partnership we established with Ocean Platform Marinas, every cruise and mega yacht stop will benefit from personalized and high-quality services reflecting Seville's unique charm. We are also very pleased to have Beatrice Rasmini lead the Seville Cruise Port team. Her expertise demonstrates that this collaboration is not just about managing a port; it aims to create a flawless travel experience for every passenger,' he said.

GPH and OPM plan to invest over 5 million euros in developing a dedicated terminal and services for cruise ships and mega yachts during the concession period. The investment program includes improvements to berthing areas, enhancing passenger traffic, providing specialized support services for large yachts, and establishing technical facilities for wintering and on-water repairs, with completion expected within the next five years.
