The 'Mekhanik Kottsov', loaded with 3.903 cubic meters of timber bound for Saint-Malo, ran aground on Aug 16, 2018, at 12.06 a.m. in the port entrance of Onega. The accident happened while leaving port with a pilot on board. A tug was sent to assist. The ship had got out of the fairway after an engine failure.
