In the evening of Aug 10, 2018, the 'Chia Ming No. 2' ran aground in strong winds and high swell on the breakwater of Budai port, Chiayi County, in Taiwan. The accident happened upon its arrival fromthe Penghu islands. The seven crew members were evacuated from the battered vessel which came to rest on the rocks with a severe list to starboard side.
