GREENEVILLE, Tennessee-based Forward Air Corp, a contractor for the air cargo industry, increased first quarter profit 3.9 per cent year on year to US$18.4 million, drawn on revenues of $321.5 million, up 6.2 per cent. The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for profits of 62 cents per share when 64 cents was actually achieved
Actual achieved quarterly revenues fell short of five analysts surveyed by Zacks who expected $323 million in sales instead of the $321.5 million recorded.
