The 'Reiu' was detained in the Barents Sea by a Russian Border Force patrol vessel, for the illegal extraction and processing of Kamchatka crab on Aug 1, 2018. Deployed on a special mission, the patrol vessel was assisted by two KA-27 helicopter. The 'Reiu' was stopped, and a patrol team boarded the vessel. Prior to boarding, the crew members of the fishing vessel were observed trying to throw overboard the illegally harvested crab. Following the detention, the fishing vessel was escorted to the port of Murmansk for control and verification procedures.
