The Posidonia Fair, regarded as one of the most prestigious organizations in the maritime sector, has opened its doors to visitors. Media sponsor SeaNews Magazine has also taken its place at the fair, while the DenizHaber team followed the first day of the organization on-site, capturing the pulse of the industry.
Held every two years in Athens, Greece, under the slogan 'The Home of Shipping,' Posidonia is considered the largest gathering on the global maritime calendar. Hosted by the Greek shipping community, which operates the world's largest commercial fleet, the fair is one of the most important business platforms that provide direct access to the maritime industry.
The Global Maritime Industry Meets in Athens
Posidonia brings together all stakeholders in the maritime sector, from shipowners to shipyards, and from equipment manufacturers to technology companies. In the last event held in 2024, 2,038 participating companies from 81 countries and regions attended, while 32,527 visitors from 130 countries followed the fair. The total number of participants was recorded as 41,838.
Record Expectations for the 2026 Edition
Organizers expect Posidonia 2026 to surpass all the figures of the previous organization. With approximately 50,000 square meters of exhibition space completely filled months in advance, it is anticipated that visitors from nearly 140 countries will come to Athens.
